This treatment combines the biocide protection of a copper based water treatment and the water repellent effect of an oil based impregnation, for an improved resistance to exterior conditions.
Royal treatment is mainly used for cladding, fencing and decking.
The oil is coming from linseed, with the possible addition of colour dyes such as dark red, brown or yellow.
The process consists firstly of impregnation in a high pressure plant with a copper water based chemical, in order to obtain a Use Class 3 or Use Class 4.
Once copper treated, timber is placed in a low pressure oil plant to remove moisture content, and impregnate with oil. This second part of the process is performed under vacuum and temperature conditions.
